We monitor legislative changes and judicial decisions and advise on the issues that surround today’s information access and privacy laws. We help individuals and businesses comply with a comprehensive range of laws, regulations and standards in this area.

We advise on seeking access to government records, as well as confidentiality and privacy issues related to submissions to government. We handle appeals to federal and provincial Privacy Commissioners and have successfully intervened to prevent the disclosure by government of confidential and proprietary client information.

We advise clients on the scope, application and implementation of Canada's federal sector privacy legislation, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, as well as provincial privacy legislation regulating the collection, use and disclosure of personal information in commercial activities. We partner with our clients to develop compliance programs and corporate privacy policies on their behalf.
