Anton N. Elistratov
Prior to joining Macleod Dixon in 2005, Anton worked as in-house counsel for a Russian oil and gas company and for a local law firm in Moscow. Today, Anton’s clients, mostly from the energy and mining industries, retain him for his advice and assistance in representing them in negotiations, the general structuring of the legal framework of projects, and the drafting of contracts.
Anton has built up an exceptional amount of expertise and experience in mergers and acquisitions, and in this practice area has overseen a number of important transactions in the Moscow office for both oil and gas and mining companies. In addition, Anton gives a full range of advice to clients on their investment activities in Russia, including:
- an analysis of the legal standing of local target companies in the natural resource sector
- establishing both joint ventures and wholly owned subsidiaries in Russia
- reporting and corporate governance requirements
- fielding such issues as the acquisition of shareholdings in Russian companies
- acting on behalf of offshore and local clients in the development and financing of projects
Anton has spoken at international mining conferences on the theme of foreign investment in the subsoil sphere, and he has published numerous articles on mergers and acquisitions, for which he holds a special interest.
