Tax
Our group has been involved in the application of the goods and services tax since its inception and we frequently analyze this tax in the context of innovative transactions. We have many years of experience dealing with Canada’s federal and provincial governments and taxation officials, and have resolved a comprehensive range of tax disputes. If litigation does become necessary, members of our group and litigation specialists in our firm frequently represent clients before tribunals and courts of all levels, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
For many years Macleod Dixon has had an international tax planning practice, particularly relating to cross border activities between Canada and the United States. In recent years this aspect of our practice has continually responded to the expanding international activities of our Toronto and Calgary clients, increased investment in Canada and the growth of our offices in Moscow, Almaty, Caracas and Rio de Janeiro.
