Information Access
- Represent numerous corporate clients with regard to access to information requests.
- Drafted numerous submissions to Transport Canada's Access to Information and Privacy Division on behalf of a client in response to third party information requests from Transport Canada. Successful in opposing disclosure or obtaining severance of confidential financial and commercial information on the basis of mandatory and discretionary provisions of the federal Access to Information Act.
- Advised municipal corporation on access requests for environmental and health and safety records under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Sought disclosure of environmental and health and safety records from the Ontario Ministry of Labour and Ontario Ministry of the Environment on behalf of a Fortune 100 company involved in a major groundwater contamination case and litigation proceedings.
- Sought disclosure of environmental and health and safety records on behalf of corporations seeking to defend against, or assert, environmental contamination claims. Undertook information access requests in the context of due diligence investigations in corporate/commercial transactions.

- Privacy policy development and implementation for major energy companies.
- Privacy policy development and implementation for major grocery retailer.
- Advised financial services company on privacy policy , privacy legislation in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and reviewed and amended standard form service agreements and consent forms.
- Advised employers on privacy issues related to review of employee emails and corporate policy on email use. Advised on numerous employee privacy issues including, employee references, monitoring of employee computer use, drug and alcohol testing.
- Counselled United States financial services parent corporation on Canadian privacy laws and reviewed and revised corporate privacy policy.
- Advised United States based corporation operating in multiple Canadian jurisdictions on privacy law requirements in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec and on the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. Assisted client on evaluation of internal audit of privacy practices and procedures. Drafted or commented on consent forms and practices. Reviewed and advised on corporate records retention policy. Advised on recording of customer calls, standard form verbal scripts for obtaining customer personal information on equipment rentals and sales and corporation's sales and service contracts.
- Advised United States corporation on privacy legislation in Canada, including health privacy.
Organized and delivered an in-house privacy law seminar for corporate client's privacy officer, corporate commercial, real estate and legal services personnel. - Drafted and advised on privacy law considerations in numerous share purchase agreements and in securities legislation disclosure requirements.
