Our 100th anniversary is just around the corner and we've begun collecting the stories of the people and events that have shaped our past - and continue to inspire our future. Stories that chronicle our firm’s journey from a small office of four partners in 1912, through to the present day and the more than 250 legal professionals in our offices in Calgary, Toronto, Caracas, Moscow, Almaty, Atyrau, and Rio de Janeiro.
It’s the story of our founding fathers and the pivotal role they played in shaping the legal landscape of Alberta. It’s about how we got our reputation as experts in the oil and gas industry, and how this expertise served as a catalyst for expanding our firm’s international presence in the resource capitals of the world. It’s also the story of how the business advice of Macleod Dixon lawyers continues to be a sought after commodity in executive offices and boardrooms across Calgary - and around the globe.
And, our narrative would not be complete if we didn’t talk about the people behind our success; legal icons like Jack Marshall QC, current Chairman of Macleod Dixon, and trailblazers like Chrysten Perry, the first female lawyer to head a major oil and gas practice group in Canada.
