On February 1, 2006, I became Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, a position I undertake with pride, enthusiasm and a sense of duty and purpose.

The Opposition plays a key role in our political and legislative process, directing questions and criticism at the government and providing alternatives to its policies and initiatives, with a view to building a better, more just and prosperous country for us all.

The Senate has a long and noble tradition as a legislative assembly - as a provider of sober second thought - and I look forward to participating in the upcoming studies, deliberations and debates.

This Web site is intended to provide you with information about my role as Leader of the Opposition, as well as a glimpse of my day to day activities.
