Environmental - Water
Clients' water requirements frequently interrelate with oil and gas activities, power production, land use, real estate and infrastructure issues.
Members of the firm's Environmental Law Practice Group have over the last decade handled a wide range of water rights matters for business, landowners, governments and individuals in:
- new source permitting;
- supply agreements;
- transfers and transactions involving water diversion and use rights; and
- negotiation and litigation of water rights.
Through this experience we have worked on the development and implementation of IFN assessments and requirements, licence term cut-offs, water sharing agreements, licence transfers, ecosystem and fishery assessments and all of the issues associated with the diversion and use of surface and groundwater resources.
