Drew Allen
Drew practices in the areas of corporate, securities, and mergers and acquisitions, with a particular focus on private acquisitions and divestitures, structuring shareholder arrangements and establishing joint ventures. Prior to joining Macleod Dixon, Drew was a lawyer with one of Canada's top national law firms and acted more recently for Canada's largest bank as in-house global m&a counsel. His experience has covered transactions in Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the UK, Europe and China and he has acted for a wide range of clients, both domestic and foreign, in numerous industries, including regulated financial institutions.
Transactions of note that Drew has been involved in include acting as counsel for the Canadian partner in a mutual fund distribution joint venture in China, a broker-dealer joint venture in the Caribbean, and acquisitions of a number of broker-dealer and financial advisory businesses in the United States and the Channel Islands. Drew has also acted on significant acquisitions in Canada on behalf of foreign beverage, engineering, tire manufacturing, leasing, chemical, electronics and other industrial clients as well as domestic clients in the financial services, mining, aerospace, telecom, computer software and pharmaceutical sectors.
