Mónica Fernández
Mónica received her law degree magna cum laude from Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2000, and her Masters in Business Law at Universidad Francisco de Vittoria in Madrid, Spain in 2004. She is currently pursuing a Postgraduate degree in Procedural Law at Universidad Central de Venezuela.
In July 2005, Mónica joined Macleod Dixon as an associate. Before joining the firm, she worked as a labor and corporate attorney for one of the biggest private companies in Venezuela for a year and as a labor attorney in an important law firm in Caracas for four years. Mónica also worked as a foreign assistant in the corporate department of a law firm in the United States of America and while she was studying law, she worked for four years as an assistant in the corporate law and civil procedural law departments of an important law firm.
Mónica specializes in labour and corporate law, with a particular focus on the civil, labour, and banking judicial defense; administrative labour proceedings; redaction of opinions in the scope of labour law; labour planning; Human Resources consulting and strategy; and redaction of individual work contracts. Mónica also has ample experience handling corporate hiring in the private sector, work contracts, advertising, supply, acquisitions and selling of personal property and real estate, and leasing, among others.
