Ramón J. Alvins
Ramón received his law degree from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in 1986 and his master of laws in Civil Procedural Law from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1993.
In February 2001, Ramón joined Macleod Dixon as a partner. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced at another international firm for a period of ten years and in a local firm for five years. He specializes in litigation and arbitration. He also has ample experience in corporate, labor and civil law.
Ramón has extensive experience in commercial and civil litigation (in matters related to property and family) as well as labor and administrative. He has participated in several procedures related to bankruptcy and reorganization. Likewise, he has participated in arbitration procedures both in Venezuela and abroad and is frequently requested for advising on matters related to the aforementioned matters. He also has ample experience in negotiating and obtaining settlements and contracts in general related to the aforementioned procedures. He has participated in Constitutional Injunctions and Appeals for Annulment.
Ramón has been listed as a leading commercial litigation adviser in Venezuela by Who’s Who Legal and in the Chambers & Partners list as an Arbitrate.
