Karl Seidenz
Karl has practiced in civil litigation and dispute resolution since 2002. He has a general practice and has developed expertise in tort/liability defence claims, professional liability claims, commercial litigation matters, and professional discipline matters.
Karl has appeared as counsel in the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia, the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, the Court of Appeal of Nova Scotia, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal. Karl has also appeared as counsel before several professional discipline tribunals.
Karl graduated from the Royal Military College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Engineering and a Commission in the Canadian Navy. He trained and worked as a Combat Systems Engineering Officer until 1997, after which he attended Dalhousie University and graduated with a law degree in 2000. Karl then clerked for one year at the Federal Court before being called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2002. Karl practiced litigation with McInnes Cooper in Halifax until 2005, when he moved to Alberta and started practicing at Macleod Dixon LLP. Karl was called to the Alberta Bar in 2005. Karl is fluently bilingual in French and English.
