Maxim Telemtayev
Maxim supervises the firm’s practice in the Republic of Kazakhstan and in other Central Asian countries and directly manages our Almaty office. He handles various matters, relating to mergers, acquisitions, financing and reorganization of businesses, both domestic and cross-border.
Maxim has over ten years of legal practice in the mining industry, oil & gas, uranium and telecommunications industries. He is a recognised expert in legal aspects of exploration, development, production and transportation of oil and natural gas. As a member of the Macleod Dixon’s team, Maxim participated in the negotiations and preparation of the major privatization project with respect to the sale of Kazakhstan’s largest oil company.
Maxim has acted as lead lawyer in various commercial transactions involving preparation and negotiation of joint venture agreements, lease contracts and various acquisition documents relating to oil & gas and mining industry transactions.
Maxim Telemtayev is listed in the 2006 edition of The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers as a leading mining practitioner. He is recommended by Chamber’s 2007 edition for his corporate and commercial legal expertise. In 2008 Chamber’s praised Mr Telemtayev for his “depth of experience and knowledge” in Corporate/Commercial: Energy & Natural Resources.
