Donald Higa, Q.C. Joins The Firm
Calgary, Canada - September, 2006The firm is pleased to welcome Don Higa, Q.C. as our Director, Professional Development and Risk Management.
Don is a well-respected lawyer in Alberta with over 20 years of practice experience, primarily in the areas of corporate litigation, insolvency and bankruptcy. He also has significant experience on the organizational side of the practice having established his own firm, and then growing that firm and ultimately merging it.
In 2003-2004 Don was the President of the Canadian Bar Association - Alberta Branch (4500 members) representing the interests of lawyers and speaking on behalf of the profession to government, media and the public.
Don will be joining our management team to provide leadership and support in the areas of professional development and risk management. Don's expertise will be valuable in a number of areas. On the professional development side, he will be playing an important role in lawyer and student recruiting, retention, training, mentoring, reviews, career development, etc. On the risk management side Don will be involved in our conflicts assessment and management functions.
