Assessment Appeals
- Representing the owners and managers of ten downtown Calgary office towers, collectively valued in excess of $4.7B, in assessment appeals before the Municipal Government Board (MGB).
- Representing downtown business hotels in the City of Edmonton, including the Westin and Hotel Macdonald, in assessment appeals before the MGB.
- Represented the owners and managers of over 300 parking facilities in Calgary in respect of the 2003 to 2007 business tax assessment appeals in the city of Calgary.
- Representing the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in the appeal of its 2008 property assessment.
Representing the Jasper Park Lodge in a review of its 2008 assessment.
Judicial Review
- Representing Boardwalk REIT, the owner of 98 Edmonton residential apartment buildings, in a judicial review before the Alberta Court of Appeal.
- Successfully represented the owners/managers of approx 160 industrial warehouses in Calgary, in respect of a judicial review brought by the City.
- Successfully represented the owner of several downtown Calgary surface parking facilities in a judicial review brought by the City of Calgary before the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta.
- Representing several downtown Calgary office towers in a judicial review of their 2006 assessment.
