Carlos Plaza Frachia
Carlos obtained his Law Degree from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in 2000. He received his Master of Law (LL.M.) in corporate and commercial law from the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA) in 2005.
Carlos joined Macleod Dixon as an associated in 2006. He concentrates his practice in Corporate and Commercial law, and has advised National and International companies in several areas such as technology, maritime, securities, bankruptcy, customs, exchange control and foreign investment.
Within the private sector, Carlos has also served as a Legal Consultant for the Venezuelan branch of one of the main technology companies in the world. He has ample experience in the negotiation and structuring of contractual relations in the financial and commercial areas, and handling diverse public procurements. Additionally, Carlos structured, drafted, and collaborated in the regional implementation of several contracts dealing with new financial products launched to market.
Carlos has advised clients on regulatory matters regarding their trading operations and products in the Venezuelan Capital Market. He has also participated in mergers, liquidations, and acquisitions of companies.
