Dave Guichon Jr.
Dave was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1981 and spent 17 years with Macleod Dixon practising corporate/commercial law with a focus on domestic and international energy industry transactions, financing and project development. His practice involved providing services to a variety of Canadian, U.S. and international energy clients on a range of matters that included acquisitions and dispositions, project development and financing, joint venture transactions, hydrocarbon production and facilities regulation, corporate reorganizations, and natural gas and products marketing. Dave also played a key role in the establishment of the firm's Caracas office in 1997.
In 1998 Dave left the firm to become Vice President Law and General Counsel of the Alliance Pipeline group of companies and partnerships, which was then in the early stages of developing its cross-border natural gas pipeline system and associated NGL extraction and processing facilities. Upon completion of these projects at the end of 2000 Dave was appointed President of Alliance Canada Marketing Ltd., the general partner of a natural gas marketing limited partnership he conceived to provide a means for Alliance Pipeline to mitigate its exposure to capacity utilization risks.
From 2002 to 2004 Dave was President of Beauvert Gas Systems Inc., a company formed to pursue the development of infrastructure systems for the use of carbon dioxide and other industrial waste gases in enhanced natural gas recovery operations.
Dave re-joined Macleod Dixon in 2004, resuming a corporate/commercial practice focused on domestic and international energy industry transactions and project development and financing.
Over the years Dave has served as a director and/or officer of a number of public and private companies, as well as various industry, community and charitable organizations, including service as a director and President of the Canadian Petroleum Law Foundation.
