David Knight
David Knight practises principally in the areas of securities and mining law. David advises clients on a broad range of securities matters including public and private financing, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. He represents both issuers and investment dealers on a regular basis. David also represents mining clients on property acquisition and development, including option and joint venture agreements, and has extensive experience in flow-through financing.
Among the transactions that David has been involved in as lead counsel are a cross-border public debt offering by a major Canadian telecommunications company, a hostile take-over bid for a large Canadian mining company and a plan of arrangement involving the spin-out of mining assets of a public company. He has also recently advised a U.S. public company with an interest in a Chinese mining joint venture on re-domiciling to Canada for the purposes of effecting a public offering and listing on The Toronto Stock Exchange and a Canadian public company on the acquisition of a coal project in British Columbia.
