Pamela Horton
A senior commercial real estate practitioner, Pamela advises property developers, asset managers, Canadian chartered banks and other private and institutional lenders, and landlords and tenants of commercial properties regarding real estate, construction and project development and finance matters. Pamela has extensive experience in the acquisition, sale, leasing and financing of office, industrial and retail properties, including large and small shopping centres. She also advises the Children’s Aid of Toronto in connection with a variety of real estate related matters.

- Provided legal advice to a national manager and developer of commercial real estate in connection with the purchase, financing and leasing of an 84,000 square foot warehousing and distribution centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
- Acts on a regular basis for a private lender providing secondary financing to owners and developers of commercial, retail and hotel projects in Ontario. Recent transactions include loans to the owner of a Niagara Falls, Ontario hotel and to the developer of a retail/restaurant/multimedia attraction in Toronto, Ontario.
- Acted for the owner of lands in downtown Toronto, Ontario in connection with its project to construct a new head office, involving development agreements with the municipality, and co-development, shared access and easement agreements with adjoining owners. Represented client in the negotiation and documentation of construction financing for the project.
- Part of the core legal team which acted for the general contractor in connection with major subcontracts under a $99,000,000 project for construction of private energy supply facilities in Ontario.
- Provided advice to an Ontario Region in connection with a construction contract for a multi-million dollar composting facility.
- Served as lead counsel for a large international accounting firm in connection with its lease of commercial office space in major centres throughout Canada, including Vancouver, Ottawa and St. John's.
- Represented five co-owners in the acquisition of a 31 acre parcel of land in the Greater Toronto Area; prepared a co-owners agreement and trust agreements reflecting the ownership structure; drafted a lease to the single tenant of a 300,000 square foot manufacturing plant and office building to be built on the lands; negotiated a $23 million design-build construction contract for the building; and represented the co-owners in connection with a $16 million mortgage financing of the lands and building.
