Rujuta Patel
Rujuta joined Macleod Dixon LLP in 2003 after moving to Canada from Kenya where she practiced corporate/commercial law with one of the leading Kenyan law firms after being called to the English Bar. Her practice is based on corporate and commercial matters. She advises on and assists with purchases and sales of businesses, corporate reorganizations and continuances, private placement debt and equity financings, legal due diligence and energy-related matters. She has also been involved in the development and structuring of produce and service acquisition strategies for national and regional organizations, and the preparation, implementation and negotiation of procurement policy and contract documentation. She is also involved in drafting, negotiating and advising on all types of commercial contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, supply agreements and service agreements.
Rujuta's practice also includes advising on competition law and foreign investment review law matters, and she has been involved in the preparation and filing of notifications of mergers and acquisitions under the Competition Act and applications for review under the Investment Canada Act.
Rujuta's practice also includes advising on international commercial transactions, and she has been involved in various transactions with professionals from Macleod Dixon LLP's international offices.
Rujuta is also qualified as an English solicitor.
